SERVED 1942-1945 WITH 416TH BOMBARDMENT, LIGHT, AS AN A-20 PILOT. SHOT DOWN AND CRASH LANDED NEAR AVRILL, FRANCE, ON JUNE 6, 1944. CAPTURED BY PANZER OPERATIONS, AND WAS A PRISONER OF WAR AT STALAG LUFT III, LATER MOVED TO STALAG VIIA. THE CAMP WAS LIBERATED BY PATTON'S 3RD ARMY, APRIL 1945.
